The Villas Senior Living FAQ's

For previous generations, senior living choices were limited. But as the baby boom generation becomes of age, senior living options have not only expanded to include independent living, but also have improved dramatically in quality. Although most modern assisted living communities have little in common with the unappealing “rest homes” of the past, many common myths still persist. We wanted to help debunk these myths and learn the truth about the many lifestyle and wellness benefits of Villas Assisted & Independent Living, located in Holmdel and Manalapan, New Jersey.

The Villas are committed to providing seniors with the best possible quality of life. We offer a wide range of services and amenities, all designed to promote independence, health, and wellbeing. Our experienced and compassionate staff are available 24/7 to provide assistance with activities of daily living, medication management, and more.

  • Are The Villas senior living facilities the same as a nursing home?
Residents of Villas Assisted Living can be healthy and active, especially when they take advantage of the benefits found in our unique ReviteWellness™ program! Residents of Villas communities are mostly independent but don’t feel safe living alone and may require support with some of the activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing, or medication management. While all residents of Villas Assisted Living have the security of knowing that help is available 24/7, our caring staff provide only the level of services they want or need.
  • Do I have to give up driving if I move to The Villas?
Seniors who can still safely operate an automobile may continue to do so while living at Villas Assisted Living. They are free to travel and participate in off-campus activities and events as they see fit, driving as little or as much as they prefer.
  • Will I lose my independence?
Living at a Villas Assisted Living community can help ensure a person’s independence. With the provided nutritious meals and support with specific activities of daily living, our residents’ safety, security, and quality of life are enhanced. Conveniences such as pharmacies, banking, beauty salons, barber shops, libraries and fitness centers are available on campus, so personal errands are easy, even for those who no longer drive. And transportation is available to most doctor’s appointments.
  • Will I feel like I am living in a hospital room?
Residences at Villas Assisted Living are warm and inviting, not institutional! Amenities are plentiful and attractive, and welcome residents to gather for social activities. Our residents have private apartments or suites with locking doors and are free to come and go as they please. They may decorate with their own furnishings and other personal items, keep their own schedules, pursue their hobbies, entertain friends and family, or simply relax.
  • Will I feel lonely and isolated?
The Villas opens many socialization opportunities, especially for seniors who no longer drive. Just outside their door, residents can visit with other people their own age. Joining a club or attending campus events makes it easy to meet others who share common interests, and residents are encouraged to continue their involvement in the surrounding community. And naturally, family and friends are always welcome for visits on campus.
  • Is there anything to do on campus?
Villas Assisted Living communities offer a robust calendar of on-campus activities, such as social events, entertainment, exercise classes, crafts, worship services, and game nights. And with services such as housekeeping and home maintenance provided, our residents can devote their energy to activities they enjoy, whether in their private residence, on campus, or in the greater community.
  • Are the meals boring, tasteless and unhealthy?
The Villas takes pride in offering a variety of healthy, tasty dietary choices, served in a five-star venue. In addition, we offer several “always available” options, plus a rotating or seasonal menu, so there’s sure to be something that will appeal to everyone. Special holiday and themed meals add even more variety, and all menus are overseen by an on-staff dietitian/nutritionist.
  • Is Assisted living only for people who need help with activities of daily living?
While our staff are always available to provide assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, many of our residents are fully independent. We offer a wide range of services and amenities to meet the needs of all residents, whether they require assistance or not.
